Substantial Internet Outage Affects Many Sites and Apps

The disrupted apps comprise the social media app Snapchat, the gaming platform Roblox, Signal, and the language learning app Duolingo, along with a host of Amazon-operated operations including its key e-commerce platform and the Ring security doorbell company.
Across the United Kingdom, Lloyds bank was affected as well as its subsidiaries Halifax and Bank of Scotland, with also reports of problems reaching the HMRC site on that morning. Also in the UK, multiple Ring customers turned to social media to state their home gadgets were failing.
